The AKM series of motors, is among the recent innovative products from Kollmorgen offering unprecedented flexibility and performance. To cater for the wide range of industrial applications, motors in the Kollmorgen AKM series are available in various frame sizes, input voltage ratings, and feedback options.
The AKM31C-ACC2AB-00 is a brushless synchronous servo motor designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. The motor’s brushless nature reduces maintenance needs and costs increasing operating time and productivity. To allow the motor to be driven easily and in a highly dynamic fashion, it employs rare earth neodymium-boron permanent magnets on its rotor. The temperature in the motor’s windings is monitored using a built-in thermal sensor. With a 24 Volt holding brake, the AKM31C-ACC2AB-00 is ideal for use with applications that may cause the motor’s shaft to rotate when at standstill. The angular connectors on the AKM31C-ACC2AB-00 allow for easier connections to be made lowering the time it takes to bring the motor back online in case of a fault.
Note that connectors on the AKM31C-ACC2AB-00 have an ingress protection rating of IP65 allowing the motor them to be effectively used in an industrial environment with high levels of dust and low-pressure water jets from all directions. The AKM31C-ACC2AB-00 has an IEC frame measuring 70 millimeters. For optimal performance, the motor supports an operating environment with an ambient relative humidity not exceeding 95 percent without condensation.
