Product Description
Kollmorgen AKM servo motors are the best-in-class in terms of performance, flexibility, ease-of-use, exact-fit, and faster commissioning. For enhanced performance, AKM series motors have exceptionally low cogging, a high-power density, offers compensation for compliant and still couplings and transmissions. Motors in the AKM series are meant to be controlled using AKD series drives. When combined with these drives, the motors are capable of delivering a maximum of 47 percent more shaft power. The motors’ ease-of-use translates to faster installations significantly reducing the set-up time for each servo system. AKM motors are supplied with or without a holding brake. Note that AKM synchronous servo motors supplied without a holding brake are meant to be used without a brake since retrofitting the brake is impossible.
The Kollmorgen AKM24C-ACF2R-00 is a servo motor with a maximum operating altitude rating of 1000 meters. When operating at 2000, 3000, 4000, or 5000 meters above sea level, the motor has 6, 17, 30, and 55 percent torque derating. For optimum performance, the motor is designed to be installed and operated in an environment with a minimum surrounding temperature of 5 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius.
With temperature being a crucial aspect for the motor to attain its rated performance, the AKM24C-ACF2R-00 features a built-in PTC thermistor sensor that is electronically isolated allowing for accurate temperature regulation. With a weight of 1.66 kilograms, the AKM24C-ACF2R-00 can comfortably be mounted in various environments and heights on the industrial floor. The motor has a thermal time constant rating of 11 minutes and a thermal resistance rating of 1.07 degrees Celsius per Watt. To help maintain the temperatures inside the frame within the required range, the AKM24C-ACF2R-00 has an aluminum heat sink.
