Product Description
With a higher starting torque, DC motors are used more often than AC motors on the industrial floor. This feature makes DC motors best suited to be interfaced with electrical traction applications allowing them to drive heavy loads when starting. Some DC motors, for instance, have a starting torque of up to 500 percent of the actual value. Kollmorgen synchronous servo motors in the AKM series are DC motors for use with packing and textile machinery. For optimal performance, AKM series motors are designed to exclusively be driven by servo amplifiers in the Kollmorgen ServoStar series such as the Kollmorgen AKD servo drive series. The drive provides optimized performance in seconds, has precise control accuracy, and is scalable to meet any application requirements.
The Kollmorgen AKM24C-ACB2DB-00 is a synchronous servo motor with an IEC-rated flange measuring 58 millimeters. The AKM24C-ACB2DB-00 is part of the Kollmorgen AKM series of servo motors. Motors in this family feature unparalleled flexibility allowing them to be used in a wide range of industrial applications. Apart from flexibility, AKM series motors can be co-engineered to address specific application needs. When paired with Kollmorgen AKD series drives, AKM servo motors can adapt to dynamic loads.
To avoid accidental rotation of the AKM24C-ACB2DB-00’s shaft when at standstill, the motor features a holding brake with a voltage rating of 24 Volts DC. The holding can either be controlled by the controlling servo amplifier or it can be controlled through additional wiring. To perfectly fit in the industrial floor, the AKM24C-ACB2DB-00 supports different mounting positions. With an ingress protection rating of IP 65, the motor is suited for environments with high levels of dusts and low-pressure water splashes.
