The Kollmorgen AKM series of servo motors provides high performance in a wide range of industrial applications. To adapt to a wide array of industrial environments, AKM series servo motors support a host of feedback devices, mounting, and connectivity options. With a variety of frame sizes, windings, and a frame-stack length combination, motors in this series offer flexibility enabling them completely address application needs. These servo motors are available in a variety of speeds and input voltages (both AC and DC). Kollmorgen motors are optionally available with fail-safe holding brakes.
The Kollmorgen AKM23C-ANB2R-00 is a synchronous servo motor with standard factory customizations. The motor falls in the AKM series of synchronous servo motors. Note that synchronous motors in this series are brushless DC motors and are designed for demanding servo applications. For motors in this series to be driven in a highly dynamic approach, their rotor hosts permanent magnets manufactured from rare earth materials. The AKM23C-ANB2R-00 has an IEC flange, a smooth shaft, and angular connectors. To prevent the motor’s shaft from accidental rotation when the motor is at standstill, the AKM23C-ANB2R-00 has a factory-installed 24 Volts holding brake.
For feedback, the AKM23C-ANB2R-00 features a resolver. Compared to other feedback devices, a resolver is suited for use in environments with considerable shock, vibrations, and electrical disturbances. For optimal operation, it should be operated in environments with unhindered ventilation and a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. To ensure the motor reaches its full service life, it should be interfaced with permissible radial forces when using toothed belts. Note that the motor’s ball bearings are adequately greased to operate through their entire 20000-hours service life.
