Kollmorgen servo motors have over time been used to drive applications on the industrial floor. These motors have safeguarded their place in the industrial floor by being reliable and efficient. The Kollmorgen AKM series has a high torque density, supports a wide range of mounting options, and can be interfaced with washdown applications such as those in pharmaceutical processing where frequent cleaning and hygiene go hand in hand. Kollmorgen’s family of servo motors features stainless steel built for harsh and rigorous regimens. Note that the Kollmorgen stainless steel AKMH series of servo motors are corrosion resistant.
The AKM22E-VBBNR-00 is a Kollmorgen servo motor in the AKM series. It’s flange size measures 58 millimeters and features standard customization. The motor is designed to be used with applications that do not require a holding brake since the motor does not feature a holding brake. By featuring angular connectors, the time it takes to disconnect and connect the motor in case of a stall is shortened. The AKM22E-VBBNR-00 is a synchronous servo motor with a brushless design and powered by a DC voltage. When combined with a Kollmorgen digital servo amplifier, the AKM22E-VBBNR-00 can be used for positioning tasks in machine tools, industrial robots, among others.
The Kollmorgen AKM22E-VBBNR-00 features an onboard electrically isolated PTC for temperature monitoring. The PTC is included in the monitoring system of the servo amplifier. Note that the temperature monitoring device does not provide protection against short, heavy overloading. To maintain the motor’s perfect operating condition even when being transported, the AKM22E-VBBNR-00 should by transported in an environment with an ambient temperature ranging between -25 and 70 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of between 5 and 95 percent without condensation.
