The AKM series offers a long list of servomotors divided into different groups based on their roto length, flange size, winding type, attached accessories/devices, and other options. The AKM series is categorized into seven types, starting with AKM1 and going to the AKM7. The projection of the categories primarily depends upon the ability to produce standstill torque. The AKM1 group offers a standstill torque in the range of 0.18 - 0.41 Nm while the AKM7 group offers between 29.4 - 53 Nm.

The AKM22E-CKS22-03 by Kollmorgen is a servomotor representing the AKM22 group category. This particular model is a rarity since it’s not a standard model. The AKM22E-CKS22-03 servomotor offers special connectors instead of the regular IP20 connectors. There is a 2048 PPR Comcoder included as a feedback device. The 58 mm flange size has been designed according to the alternative IEC standard. Coupled with the special shaft that accompanies an open keyway, there is a 24V holding brake for an emergency stop. The servomotor has a rotor length 2. The 1.1 kg servomotor by Kollmorgen offers a standstill current of 2.73 amps and can reach up to 10.9 amps max.
