For motion control and servo applications, the company introduced the AKM series of brushless DC motors. The AKM21C-ENBNC-00 is a synchronous motor from this series and uses the advanced SERVOSTAR servo amplifier for exercising its closed-loop feedback. With the Smart Feedback Device, the motor provides accurate position and speed control. The motor can produce a 1.47 Nm peak torque at a 6.3 A peak current. The motor uses a special neodymium-iron-boron magnetic material that increases its functionality in dynamic environments. The AKM21C-ENBNC-00 gives an unhindered performance in an extended temperature range. For maximum performance, the motor can be operated in a range of 5 ᵒC to 40 ᵒC.
The rotor’s moment of inertia is 0.11 kgcm2 and the motor’s weight is 0.82 kg. With the international protection degree IP 65, the motor can operate in adverse environmental conditions. The implementation of this standard ensures protection against dust particles and water jets from all directions. When the motor is in standstill mode, a 0.48 Nm torque can be applied at its output shaft.
