Product Description

The AKD-B00307-NBAN-0000 is one of the most versatile and robust servo drives from the house of Kollmorgen. The drive is easy to use with advanced autotuning. Its software comes with an intuitive graphical interface for easy setup and efficient programming and troubleshooting. With the highest bandwidth torque- and velocity- loops, this AKD series servo drive sports the fastest digital current loop on in the market. The peak time of the servo drive is 5 seconds and the update rate is 1.5 MHz. Only professional staff qualified in electrical engineering should install the drive. Green colored wires with one or more yellow stripes should be used only for PE (protective earth) wiring. Remember to install and wire the drive when it is not live. The mounting position of the drive is vertical. The servo drive comes with a built-in fan for ventilation. However, the device shuts down if the temperature is excessively high in the control cabinet. As a preventive measure, sufficient forced ventilation should be supplied. The control logic of the drive is 24 volts. The power section of the AKD servo drive has a DC bus link voltage ranging from 340 VDC to 680 VDC. The servo drive sports a built-in dynamic braking mode that operates fully in hardware. It not only has an internal regen resistor but can also be connected to an external resistor. The drive has a DC bus capacitance of 235 microfarad. The AKD servo drive features a certified STO safety implementation. The STO function is meant to offer a functional safe stop when the system is in motion. It should not be used when inactivating the servo drive for purposes such as cleaning, repair operations, maintenance, and long inoperative periods. In these circumstances, the entire system needs to be disconnected from the electrical supply. The cleaning and maintenance part should be done only by the manufacturer. The drive should never be opened for cleaning purposes. Moreover, liquid of any form should not be allowed to come in contact with the AKD servo drive. Product cleaning and maintenance should be done only five minutes after the power is turned off.

Frequently Asked Questions about AKD-B00307-NBAN-0000

Q: What happens when the dynamic braking mode is activated in the AKD servo drive?

A: When the dynamic braking mode is activated, the AKD servo drive causes a shorting of the motor terminals in phase with the back EMF and continues to run the non-force producing current loop with no current.

Q: What is the software used by the AKD servo drive?

A: The AKD servo drive used the Workbench software from the manufacturer to support its operation.

Q: Can devices that produce magnetic fields be mounted directly near the servo drive?

A: No, devices that produce magnetic fields should not be mounted near the AKD servo drive.

Q: What is the rated output current (RMS value ±3%) of the AKD-B00307-NBAN-000 servo drive?

A: The rated output current (RMS value ±3%) of the AKD servo drive is 3 amperes.

Q: Does the AKD servo drive have an internal regen resistor in place?

A: Yes, the AKD servo drive comes with an internal regen resistor. It can also be connected to an external resistor as per the requirements.
