The 60WKS-M240/22-PO is a highly versatile servo amplifier model designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. It is one of the servo amps in the 60WKS series, exclusively designed to work with brushless synchronous motors in the SM series, also by Kollmorgen. Made up of maintenance-free units; the servo amplifier features a space-optimizing design for easy mounting and operation. A custom printed circuit board on its aluminum front panel allows manipulation of its parameters for quick setup and commissioning.

The 60WKS-M240/22-PO uses LEDs to pass certain information on the state of the machine. Conditions such as overvoltage, under-voltage, over-current, and thermal overload can be detected by its monitoring system and indicated by the LEDs. It also uses PI controllers to control the speed and current of the motor. There is an input for the rotor position sensor of the linked motor on the servo amplifier to monitor its phase switching and tacho windings. It also features a ballast circuit and resistor for power-sharing and current control.

At the connection terminals of the motor, the 60WKS-M240/22-PO offers protection against short circuit and earth fault. Monitoring the temperature of the motor can also prevent damage due to excess temperature within the system. Its Ingress Protection (IP) rating is IP 00. According to EN60204 / EN50178, this unit is designed for use in a pollution level 2 environment, where there is non-conductive pollution and occasional temporary condensation. It is recommended that it is operated in a closed switchgear cabinet where the ambient temperature is maintained within a range of 0° C to 40° C. The relative humidity in the area should also be between 5 % and 85 %.
