The 60WKS-M240/06-PB is a high-performance servo amplifier model in the 60WKS servo amplifier series designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. It is designed for integration with the SM series of brushless synchronous servo motors, and it ensures the efficient control of speed and torque. This servo amplifier drives the SM motors using trapezoidal commutation for increased torque and lowered current switching losses. It also uses PI controllers to minimize motor speed errors and efficiently control current. It features a compact design for easy installation and space optimization.
The 60WKS-M240/06-PB utilizes a three-phase supply voltage between 60 V and 172 V and a frequency range between 50Hz and 60Hz (+/-10%). A -W- characteristic ballast circuit with a pulse power of 5.4 kW and a ballast resistor are integrated into it for energy dissipation and voltage control. The DC link voltage of the servo amplifier is 250 V, and its peak output current is 15 A for 5 seconds. It also utilizes a four-quadrant operation with a rated output current of 6 A and a minimum motor inductance of 2.5 mH. While housed in a closed switchgear cabinet, its cooling can be achieved with natural convection.
There are LED indicators for diagnostics and operation signaling on the 60WKS-M240/06-PB. The use of an isolation transformer with screen winding is also required for its operation with the three-phase mains supply. This isolation transformer used must meet the requirements indicated by the manufacturer. Short circuit protection is offered at the motor’s terminals and the amplifier’s 15 V auxiliary supply. The 60WKS-M240/06-PB has an IP 00 rating. According to EN60204 / EN50178 standards, it should be operated in a pollution level 2 area.
