Product Description
The 5645-027 is a 10-lb Microstep Indexer Motor Drive in the 5645 series manufactured by Kollmorgen. It offers high-end performance and utilizes a StepperBASIC programmable indexer for the connected motor’s motion control. The 5645 series are equipped with a switch that facilitates the selection of operation current between 5 – 8 Amperes and a Phase RMS of 7.1 – 11.3 Amperes (peak). In addition, the nominal DC Bus of this series is 160 Volts. It boasts an integral power supply. Some of the other features of this model include shunt regulatory circuitry, status indicators, short circuit protection circuitry (SCPC), and bipolar chopper drive. Its RAM is 12 KB, and it also has a battery-backed application memory of 12 KB.
The chopper drive feature of the 5645-027 ensures that motor current control is maintained at a chopper frequency of 20 kHz. Its internal power supply operates at an input voltage of 120 VAC. Also, the shunt regulator circuitry of this indexer drive shields it by discharging excess supply energy if an upper limit of 200 Volts DC Bus is exceeded. The 5645-027 is also protected from a short circuit by its SCPC that force shuts the drive and triggers the power fault LED indicator in the event of a short circuit on the motor output.
The 5645-027 can be operated using a Computer or Display-only terminal depending on the use case. It interacts efficiently with these terminals using the StepperBASIC programming index, and its command operators are arithmetic, logical and relational. The 5645-027 employs motion statements to efficiently control the rotational direction and speed of the linked motor. If any error occurs while in use, the corresponding error code is transmitted through its terminal screens.
