Product Description

The 5645-024 is a Microstepping Index motor drive from Kollmorgen. It weighs 10 lbs and is designed for the efficient control of the position and velocity of the corresponding motor via motion statements. These motion statements are a BASIC programming language that instigates the linked motor's motor run speed and rotational direction. This model is equipped with a 12 KB volatile RAM for running and programming in direct mode (with power source only). In addition, the 5645-024 features a 12 KB non-volatile (battery-backed) RAM memory for application/program storage. The peak current of this stepper drive is 11.3 Amperes, and it comes with an integral power supply.

The 5645-024 can be controlled via two different interface terminals – Display-only and Computer - depending on the application requirements. This model is equipped with serial communication I/Os and a 9600 baud transmission rate to facilitate its connection to the interface terminals. In addition, the 5645-024 interacts with either of the terminals using Basic commands from a StepperBASIC programming language.

The operators utilized by the 5645-024 Microstepper Indexer are arithmetic, relational and logical – these operators are evaluated in their order of precedence. Also, this model utilizes string constants and numeric constants. It features a large set of pre-defined parameters that specify constraints on mode control and motion control functions. Furthermore, it comes with a stall detection function that identifies stall conditions based on the user-specified allowances between the motor commanded position and actual rotor position. During operation, the 5645-024 is susceptible to system, runtime, and syntax errors, all of which will be translated via the terminal screen with their error codes.
