Product Description
Kollmorgen is an international manufacturer of industrial motion control products and automation systems.
The 5645 is a high performance drive that is designed to integrate the benefits of a stepperBASIC programmable indexer with a bipolar chopper drive. The bipolar chopper drive is able to control motor current at 20 kHz chopper frequency. This model is used with a shunt regulator circuitry that has the ability to protect the drive by removing the energy from the supply if the DC bus voltage is in excess of 200 volts. This feature is able to protect the drive from excess voltage levels that are generated when the motor is being decelerated. In order to facilitate troubleshooting, this model is provided with various status LEDs. The indexer circuitry of this device provides programmable motion control and enables easy interfacing with to application. The StepperBASIC programming language comes with over 100 instructions and can easily combine the ease of programming language BASIC with other motion control features.
The 5645 is equipped with the serial interfaces RS232 and RS485 serial ports that can interface the user computer or terminal for computer control. It is possible to control multiple 5645 units from a single terminal or computer through the RS485 and RS232 serial ports. The device has 12 user programmable outputs to the external devices. One output can be used for motor moving and is program selectable. There are 16 programmable user inputs to facilitate the connection of external devices. It is possible to pre-define certain units for start, stop, limit, and jog functions. This microstep drive can be used in different labeling machines, feed to length equipment, X-Y tables & slides, and packaging machinery.
