Product Description
14.F5.MBE-3AEA is a versatile frequency inverter. It is designed by KEB for precise speed control of 3-phase motors. The inverter has a power chain comprising of a rectifier, DC link and output inverter. The rectifier has an uncontrolled bridge configuration. Output of the rectifier is smoothed by a capacitor. The smoothed DC is then applied to an inverter controlled by a PWM circuit and produces AC output with variable amplitude/frequency. The inverter uses the variable AC output to control speed, torque and position of a step less motor. As per inverter specifications, the maximum power rating for the connected motor is 7.5 kilowatts. Nominal output of the 14.F5.MBE-3AEA is 11 kVA. The range of output frequency is from 0 to 1600 Hertz. Rated output is 16.5 Amps at 440 Volts and 14 Amps at 480 Volts.
The 14.F5.MBE-3AEA operates with either DC or AC input at 400 Volts. For AC, it requires three-phase voltage and draws 23.1 Amps at 305 - 440 Volts and 19.6 Amps at 460 – 500 Volts. Power loss of the inverter is 320 Watts at nominal switching frequency. The default switching frequency for the unit is 8 kilohertz. Value of the stall current at this frequency is 16.5 Amps. A heat sink on the unit increases effective surface area for higher heat dissipation. Its surface temperature must be kept below 90 degrees Celsius. For power terminals, KEB recommends 0.5 Nm tightening torque. Cross section of motor power cable should be greater than or equal to 4 mm2. Upper and lower limits for operating temperature are -10 and 45 degrees. Upper and lower limits for storage temperature are -25 and 70 degrees. The unit has IP20 protection rating.
