The 07.BR.100-6620 braking resistor provides durable functionality under consistent load with a resistance of 620 Ohm and a continuous power rating of 56 W. For applications demanding intermittent power dissipation, it offers high pulse ratings including 900 W for a 6 second ontime, 300 W for a 25 second on time and 180 W for a 40 second on time. Its IP 20 / VBG 4 enclosure type ensures basic protection against dust and accidental contact suitable for controlled environments. The operating temperature range from – 10 °C to + 45 °C allows it to function effectively within standard ambient conditions and the side mounting design facilitates easy integration into compact setups. The resistor measures 26 x 160 x 40 mm (W x H x D) to ensure a slim profile that conserves space within control cabinets.
The BR series braking resistor incorporates temperature monitoring features indirectly protecting against overtemperature errors. The duty cycle is limited to 6 seconds aligning with high pulse applications and controlled operation intervals. This braking resistor must be installed with adequate clearance from nearby components to ensure no risk of fire or malfunction due to elevated temperatures. Sufficient cooling and if required a hot surface warning label should be considered for safe usage. The thermojunctions integrated into the unit respond to temperatures up to 160 °C and are configured with NC contacts offering maximum loads of 30 Vdc/0.5 A.
