12.B6.A3B-3900 is a frequency inverter. It is part of the B6 product line from KEB Automation. The inverter is designed for control of high power motors used in industrial applications. Its input voltage rating is 400 Volts AC (three-phase). The unit can work with input voltages as high as 480 Volts. The rated output power is 6.5 kVA. Operators can use motors with maximum 4 kilowatts power rating with the inverters. The maximum short-time current is 17 Amps. The OC-tripping current rating is 21 Amps. Input current rating for the inverter is 13 Amps. If required, operators can use a safety fuse with maximum 20 Amps current rating. The 12.B6.A3B-3900 inverter is configured for 4 kilohertz switching frequency. The switching frequency can be configured to a maximum value of 8 kilohertz.
Output voltage of the inverter is same as the input mains voltage and the output frequency is 400 Hertz. KEB recommends using cables with minimum 2.5 mm2 cross section for the motor connection. Shielded motor lines with maximum 30 meter length can be used. When deployed in the US, the inverter can be used with 15 Amps type RK5 mains fuse. If required, a 150 Ohms braking resistor can be used with the frequency inverter. With this resistor, the maximal braking current is 10 Amps. The leakage current with the internal filter is approximately 6 milliamps. Housing of the frequency inverter is IP20 rated, which means it must be used indoors or installed inside a cabinet. The recommended ambient temperature for operation is from -10 to 40 degrees Celsius. The heat sink temperature should not exceed 90 degrees Celsius. Minimum 100 millimeters spacing should be provided on the top and bottom sides.
