Product Description

SS2000D3 is a product of Danaher Motion Company. The USA-based company is a leading producer of top-tier automation and motion controllers, drives, and timers used in many factory applications. The SS2000D3 is a chopper drive that is bipolar, speed adjustable, and uses MOSFET and IGBT devices. It uses a two-phase power source and is engineered to operate stepper motors in full, half, or 1/5, 1/10, 1/16 steps. It has a maximum speed of 10, 000 full steps per second. To mitigate the chances of electrical noise problems, the control signals are optically isolated from the drive circuit.

The Danaher Motion chopper drive comes loaded with state-of-the-art features such as boost current, reduce current, and drive ready output, and optically isolated inputs and many more. It is also UL recognized hence can be used in a wide array of applications. Since they use solid-state electronics, they are prone to electrical noise that negatively affects their performance. Interference can also happen due to light dimmers, solenoids, relays, or contactors. Whichever the case you should keep signal and power cables separated to avoid coupling, provide a solid grounding, or use shielded twisted pair cables.

The SS2000D3 should be mounted vertically on a flat surface for optimal cooling to occur. Avoid obstructing airflow at all cost. Ensure the temperature in the enclosure is below 70 degrees. If it exceeds the capped range, you can carry out forced air cooling. To foster natural convection cooling, leave a space of 2 inches around the top, bottom and sides of the drive. This chopper drive has a maximum AC input of 132 VAC and a minimum input of 90 VAC. The AC is 5 amperes while the fuse rating is 250 volts, 8 amperes.
