Product Description
The PX100 24-bit resolution high-density A/D-D/A Conversion System features two channels and an operating frequency range of 44.1 kHz to 96kHz. The Conversion System essentially comprises two converters that are independent of each other. One of them is a stereo 24-bit/96K analog to digital converter while the other is a stereo 24-bit/96K digital to analog converter inside a 1U rack unit. The system can also function as a format converter and a bit-splitting device. It features a digital copy mode for format conversion among TDIF, ADAT, S/PDIF, and AES/EBU formats.
The Conversion System houses an AUX connector on its rear side. It supports the confidence monitor, digital copy, and analog monitor modes. In the confidence monitor mode, the two converters act independently of each other. In the digital copy mode, the same digital input is transferred to all the digital outputs including the D/A and AUX outputs. The analog monitor mode helps in using the D/A converter to monitor the A/D output. The unit indicates errors or disallowed conditions using temporarily blinking LEDs. The analog and A/D converter feature a 117dB stop-band attenuation and +/-001dB passband ripple. The D/A converter features a Delta-Sigma conversion system, 25W power capacity and sample rates in the range of 32 to 106 kHz.
The Danaher conversion system must not be used without the cover to lessen the chances of electrical shock. It must also be kept away from damp areas or water. The unit must be connected to an AC power supply with the correct voltage rating. Both the converters can be calibrated using a small flathead screwdriver or a tweaker by rotating the left or right trimpots in a clockwise direction. This will help to increase the gain of the converter. The A/D-D/A conversion system is widely used for metering, as well as recording 24-bit signals along with one or more 16-bit signals at the same time.
