Product Description

The model STM-075-07 is a versatile stepper motor drive engineered for precise motion control. This drive is designed by Copley Controls. It integrates advanced CANopen networking and digital control for various industrial automation applications. Its compact design and compatibility with Copley’s Accelnet™ and Xenus™ digital servo drives ensure seamless integration across distributed networks.

This Stepnet series stepper motor drive supports CANopen motion commands and operates as a standalone unit for flexibility. Incremental position commands in Step/Direction or CU/CD formats are supported along with A/B quadrature commands from master encoders. The motor position ratio is programmable that allows for precise electronic gearing. Its ± 10 V analog input enables accurate position, velocity and torque control. The drive is equipped with a 12 input logic system for diverse applications including limit switches, pulse inputs, A/B encoder inputs and temperature monitoring. The drive features four programmable logic outputs for fault reporting or other status indications. The drive delivers high speed reliable performance with a current loop bandwidth of 2.5 kHz and a position loop update rate of 3 kHz. The 15 kHz current loop update rate ensures smooth operation under varying load conditions.

The STM-075-07 stepper motor drive utilizes cubic polynomial interpolation for smooth motion transitions and precise position control. S-curve acceleration, deceleration and speed adjustments are programmable for optimal performance. The model’s PVT mode enables complex motion sequences that connects multiple points with precise timing. The drive supports homing using limit and home switches to ensure accurate positioning. Its “keep alive” HV input preserves position data and operational status during emergency stops. Transformer isolated DC power input of the motor drive reduces costs in multi axis systems.
