Product Description
The servo amplifier ASP-090-36 from the Copley Controls Accelus series is a reliable motor control device designed for precise motor phase control and efficient performance. Its compact design supports various industrial automation applications.
This ASP-090-36 servo amplifier supports six digital inputs five of which are programmable for flexible configuration. The inputs [IN1, IN5, IN6] have pull-up resistors compatible with switches or NPN/CMOS/TTL outputs. The [IN2] input doubles as the enable signal to provide amp-enable or reset options and ensures fail safe operation when set to active low mode. The amplifier output utilizes a three phase PWM inverter that converts DC bus voltage into sinusoidal waveforms for motor phase coils. It handles phase currents summing to zero and requires shielded twisted motor cabling to minimize PWM noise. Cable shielding should connect to the motor frame and ground for optimal performance. It provides robust protection including HV overvoltage and undervoltage safeguards that disable outputs when thresholds are exceeded. Internal protections include current limiting, short circuit safety, and amplifier over temperature shutoff when the board exceeds 70 °C. The motor over temperature input can also disable the amplifier when programmed.
The servo amplifier features current-sinking MOSFET open-drain outputs for inductive load handling and requires external flyback diodes. It supports up to 1 Adc sink current, + 30 Vdc max. The mechanical build ensures stable mounting with slots at 0° or 90° and it dissipates heat through conduction or convection. The amplifier measures 167.1 mm x 98.81 mm x 29.72 mm and weighs 0.94 lb (0.43 kg) without a heatsink. It operates within a temperature range of 0 to + 45 °C and can be stored at - 40 to + 85 °C.
