TVM2.1-050-W1 is a high-performance power supply module. The rated output current of the device is 50 Amps. The main function of the module is rectification of AC input. A rectifier on the module rectifies input AC and converts it to DC. Output DC voltage of the module is 300 Volts. This DC voltage is fed to connected drive units. Multiple drives can draw power from a single TVM power module. The drive units use DC power for the control electronics. The drive units also supply the DC power to connected motors. The TVM2.1-050-W1 module is equipped with an internal blower. The function of this blower is to increase airflow and provide improved heat dissipation. Internal temperature of the module is higher than the ambient temperature. Excessively high internal temperatures can cause power supply components to malfunction and fail. Therefore, the only way to control internal temperature is to ensure that the ambient temperature remains within safe limits. Bosch has specified 5 to 45 degrees Celsius temperature for rated TVM module output. At higher temperatures, the output of the module derates. The output of TVM modules also derates if the altitude is more than 1000 meters. The module comes in an IP10 rated enclosure. This type of enclosure is not protected from moisture or dust ingress. Therefore Bosch recommends installing the TVM2.1-050-W1 module inside an industrial cabinet. Bosch also recommends at least 80 millimeters of spacing of the bottom and top side. This spacing is necessary for unobstructed airflow, which is important for maintaining the ambient temperature. Only trained professionals should handle and install the power supply module. Failure to follow safety precautions can lead to injury and equipment damage.
