The SM 1.5/3-TC1 is a state of the art AC inverter system that is used for speed and torque regulation in various industrial motors. The system has a 1.5 A rated current and a 3 A peak current. The diagnostic module offers diagnostic capabilities and comes with different LEDs that can display fault and warning signs. For example, the tacho fault LED is turned on if the tacho circuit is interrupted. Similarly, the excess temperature LED is turned on if the heat sink temperature rises above permissible values.

The SM 1.5/3-TC1 can also prevent the motor from jamming by reducing the current supply to the motor. When the motor remains static after receiving the maximum current for two seconds, the system recognizes this as a fault and automatically cuts the power supply to the motor by 50 %. The device has an IP 00 protection degree according to the DIN standards and its admissible humidity lies in class F.
