The SF-A4.0172.060-14.050 is a Bosch Rexroth motor in the SF series of synchronous servo motors. This motor type works with the fully digital Servodyn-D inverter system to deliver fast speeds and high precision in industrial applications such as handling equipment, semiconductors, machine tools and more. This model is a size 4 motor with an integrated absolute value encoder for the evaluation of position and speed. The in-built encoder can be a single-turn absolute value encoder (STG) or a multi-turn absolute value encoder (MTG). The low contamination frame of the motor is IP 67 protected making it suitable for use in various industrial setups and conditions since it can resist dust and liquid contaminants.

The motor is equipped with natural convection cooling for extreme loads. It also comes equipped with thermistors in its windings to ensure temperature control and prevent overload damage. The Servodyn-D inverter system is optimized to the motor by an integrated electronic rating plate in the motor for optimal performance. Installation is facilitated by installation pockets along the length of the motor. It also comes with plug in connectors for the output and encoder.

The locked rotor current of this motor is 26. It has a rated speed of 6000 and a locked rotor torque of 17 Nm. It comes equipped with a basic version shaft. There shaft does not come with a mating connector but users can order it separately when purchasing the motor. The motor comes equipped with a holding brake that helps in safe operation by helping to fix the feed axis on standstill when the machine is powered off. The ideal operating temperature for this motor is 0 to 40 degrees Celcius and it is rated for a d.c. link voltage of 670 V.
