The RZW03.1-055-006 braking resistor from the RZW Braking Resistor Series manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat has been specially developed for use in industrial braking systems.
This device has a current rating of 80A and has a capability of handling 550W thus suitable for systems that need efficient power drainage during deceleration. This module is developed for voltage input of 230 VAC and the leakage current of 35 mA is maintained to make the module safe and effective. This braking resistor has IP20-rated protection which gives basic protection from dust and physical touch and is recommended for controlled environments. The unit has a maximum operation temperature of 45°C which enables it to work effectively in medium environmental conditions in industries. The heat sinking method used in the design is natural convection, which implies that the resistor uses the surrounding air to regulate the temperatures at which it operates thus leading to the development of a small-sized and energy-saving device. The module is rather small with the dimensions of 80 x 398 x 200 mm and a weight of 6 kg which makes it easy to install in different systems.
