Product Description

The RZP01.1-S1 is a SERCOS (serial real-time communication system) interface manufactured by Rexroth Indramat to control the exchange of digital information between the drive controller and all other devices of the serv system. This communication module is about 113 millimetres long and 87 millimetres wide; it is a flexible communication system that can be integrated into a broad range of industrial drive controller series such as the REFU 500, RD51, RD52, and RS51 controller series. The integration of the RZP01.1-S1 communication interface allows for collision-free communication through the use of a time slot mechanism. The configuration and integration of this communication module into the servo system is a fairly complicated process; thus, only operators familiar with the product and have gone through the instructions in the documentation of the device should be allowed to carry out such configuration operation.

The RZP01.1-S1 SERCOS interface operates with the internal electrical power supplied by the drive controller; this interface can be operated under the A1 radio interference level according to EN55011. The permissible ambient temperature at which the communication interface should be operated is +5 to 40 degrees Celsius; however, if the interface is not required for immediate operation, it should be stored in an ambient temperature that falls between -5 to +45 degrees Celsius.

The control of digital information exchange through this communication module occurs with a telegram jitter as low as 35 nanoseconds. During transportation, the RZP01.1-S1 communication interface should be stored at a temperature the falls within the range of -25 to +70 degrees Celsius. If this communication interface is operated under ideal operation conditions, it can function with an efficiency as high as 95 per cent for more than five years without developing any fault.
