The Bosch Rexroth RZM01.1-5-054 is a filter designed for use with motors that are connected at the output of RD 500 drive converters. The long wires used for the converter to motor connection and the steep switching gradients of pulse converters cause excessive voltage transients at the motor input. Motor filters such as those that are part of the RZM product line help to minimize these transient voltage fluctuations. The use of motor filters also reduces the leakage currents present on the motor lines. Other benefits of using motor filters include long supply motor lines or multiple parallel motor lines, limitation of power surges, reduction of strain on the winding insulation and reduction of interfering voltages. The RZM01.1-5-054 is rated for connection to three-phase AC input at 500 Volts nominal voltage.

The maximum current rating of the RZM01.1-5-054 is 54 Amps. RD 500 series drive converters rated for 22 / 30 / 37 kilowatts can be used with this motor filter. The rated power loss for an operating RZM01.1-5-054 filter is 250 Watts. The nominal filter current at 4 kilohertz pulse frequency is 54 Amps. The nominal filter current at 8 kilohertz pulse frequency is 45 Amps. The longest motor line lengths that can be used at 4 kilohertz and 8 kilohertz are 200 meters and 120 meters respectively. Use of shielded motor lines leads to a reduction in the length of the line by 50%.  The peak output frequencies at 4 kilohertz and 8 kilohertz pulse frequency are 100 Hertz and 200 Hertz respectively.
