The Bosch RD52.2-4B-018-L-NN-FW is a Rexroth RD 500 RD52 drive designed for motor control applications. The drive can be used with various Bosch induction and synchronous motors. The drive has a modular architecture that allows the system to be adapted for different applications. The RD52.2-4B-018-L-NN-FW is based on a converter with integrated brake chopper. The converter is designed for 380 to 480 Volts AC input (three-phase). The output of the drive system is 18.5 kilowatts. Additional functions are not avaible on the drive. Firmware for the RD52.2-4B-018-L-NN-FW has to be ordered separately. The performance specifications for the drive depend on the pulse frequency. The supports pulse frequencies are 4 kilohertz and 8 kilohertz. For 4 kilohertz, the rated motor output is 18.5 kilowatts, the rated current is 35 Amps and output frequency range is 0 to 250 Hertz.

For 8 kilohertz, the rated motor output is 15 kilowatts, the rated current is 30 Amps and output frequency range is 0 to 500 Hertz. The RD52.2-4B-018-L-NN-FW drive cools through forced air cooling. Bosch has recommended a minimum airflow of 0.05 cubic meters per second for adequate drive cooling. The power dissipated as heat during operation by the RD52.2-4B-018-L-NN-FW is 0.57 kilowatts at 4 kilohertz pulse frequency and 0.63 kilowatts a 8 kilohertz pulse frequency. The radio interference suppression capability rating of the RD52.2-4B-018-L-NN-FW drive is A1 according to EN 55011. The degrees of protection offered by the drive housing is IP20. Therefore the RD52.2-4B-018-L-NN-FW can only be used indoors and should be installed inside a suitable switch cabinet. The operating environment should be free of corrosive gases and vapors.
