The INDRAMAT RD500 device is an all-inclusive, three-phase drive system. It comprises different components that can be ordered individually or as a unit. These components include DC supply inverters, AC drive converters with/without braking chopper, and rectifiers and supply modules that deliver regenerative feedback into the line supply. This device is operated with a removable operator panel and has a 4-line graphical display. It is commonly used in machine tools, chemical and process technology, hoist and conveyor technology, packing and foodstuffs machines, and machine tools.

The RD52.1-4N-200-R-NN-FW is a part of the INDRAMAT RD500 drive system. It is a frequency controller which features a converter with a three-phase AC supply voltage of 380-480V, with a tolerance limit of ±10%. It has a rated motor output of 200kW and an output frequency range of 0-150Hz. Meanwhile, it uses flux vector control as a motion control method; hence, it suits the most challenging and highly dynamic drive operations. Also, it can be operated with encoders such as the incremental encoder, resolver encoder, and sin-cos encoder. In addition, Peer-to-peer connection can be enabled using a fiber optic cable.

The RD52.1-4N-200-R-NN-FW is without a built-in brake chopper. Its ideal cooling method is liquid cooling with the use of an internal pump. According to DIN IEC 721-3-3, it is classified in the environmental class 3K3; hence, it requires a temperature of 40° C or less to operate effectively. This controller offers a protection degree of IP20 per EN 60529; thus, it is protected against damage from solid external objects with a diameter of 12mm or more.
