The Bosch RD52.1-4N-001-L-V1-P1-L1-FW is a modern three-phase drive system. The RD 52.1 is designed for the control of different synchronous and induction motors. The drive system has a modular design which allows adaptation to varying applications. Modules for the drive system can be purchased individually or as a completely-wired system. Technical characteristics of the RD 52.1 series include AC / DC supply, support for different cooling modes, user panel and a range of communication interfaces including Interbus S and CAN bus. The RD52.1-4N-001-L-V1-P1-L1-FW features a converter and connects to three-phase input at 380 to 480 Volts AC (±10% allowed tolerance). Output power rating of the drive system is 1 kilowatt. The drive system does not include a brake chopper. Features that are available on the RD52.1-4N-001-L-V1-P1-L1-FW include forced air cooling mode, 24 Volts stand-by power and feedback of cable damping.
The drive firmware needs to be ordered separately from the hardware. Power terminals for the converter and control terminals on the drive should be connected as specified in the product manual. Correct insertion of the star / delta jumpers on the motor should also be verified. The motor feedback cable, the signal cable and the line supply cable should be routed separately with the recommended minimum clearance. A trained electrician should check the safety requirements before the electrical system is commissioned. Optimal environmental conditions for the RD52.1-4N-001-L-V1-P1-L1-FW drive system include 0 to 40 degrees Celsius temperature and 0 to 1000 meters elevation. Above 1000 meters the drive output derates and reaches a maximum of 17% at 2000 meters. Similarly the output also derates by 2.5% for every additional degree Celsius increase in ambient temperature between 40 and 50 degrees Celsius.
