The Bosch RD52.1-4B-030-L-V1-FW is a universal drive. It is a converter based drive. The converter on the drive includes a built-in brake chopper. Voltage rating of the drive converter is 380 to 480 Volts AC. The RD52.1-4B-030-L-V1-FW dissipates 1.1 kilowatts during operation. It is designed for forced air cooling which requires fans or blowers for increasing air flow across the operating drive. The nominal drive output is 30 kilowatts. A wide range of additions functions can be ordered for RD52 drives. The additional function available on the RD52.1-4B-030-L-V1-FW is 24 Volts standby power. With this feature data sets on the drive can be parameterized in the absence of line supply voltage. Field buses on the drive can also continue to operate with standby power even if the main supply is disconnected. The standby power feature requires an external 24 Volts DC supply.

Bosch recommends connection of the backup supply to X83 in a floating manner. This helps to protect the drive from reverse polarity.
