The RD52.1-4B-011-L-NN-FW is a RD52 series universal drive controller. It is designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. The firmware for the drive system has to be ordered as a separate subposition. The reason for this is that Bosch provides different firmware versions and the firmware loaded onto a drive should be optimized to the specific applications requirements.  The RD52.1-4B-011-L-NN-FW can be used for control of compatible synchronous and induction motors from Bosch. Typical applications for the drive system include machine tools, packing machines, foodstuff machines and chemical technology. The power section of the drive can be cooled at the rear. This allows the drive to be mounted so that the heat sink is outside the user-supplied enclosure. Forced air cooling can be used for effective heat dissipation. The recommended ambient working temperature range for the RD52.1-4B-011-L-NN-FW is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.

The minimum air flow rate required for adequate cooling is specified in the product documentation. The RD52.1-4B-011-L-NN-FW is based on a converter with built-in brake chopper. The rated motor output of the drive system is 11 kilowatts. The rated input voltage range is 380 to 480 Volts AC (three-phase). The drive system can be operated with 50% output derating at 200 to 240 Volts AC input. The drive should only be operated under the specified mounting and installation conditions and under the specified ambient conditions. Use of the RD52.1-4B-011-L-NN-FW for non-specified applications and under non-specified conditions is considered improper use. Housing of the drive system is IP20 rated. This drive can be cabinet mounted for improved environmental protection.
