The RD51.2-4B-003-L-A1-FW is a RD51 drive controller. It is designed by Bosch Rexroth for motor control applications. The drive converter includes a built-in brake chopper. The input to the drive should be between 380 to 480 Volts AC. The RD51.2-4B-003-L-A1-FW is designed for three-phase input. The output power rating of the drive is 3 kilowatts at 4 kilohertz pulse frequency. Other drive parameters at 4 kilohertz pulse include 0 to 250 Hertz output frequency, 7.5 Amps rated current, 13 Amps peak current for 1 seconds and 4.9 kVA rated output. The output power rating of the drive is 2.2 kilowatts at 8 kilohertz pulse frequency. Other drive parameters at 4 kilohertz pulse include 0 to 500 Hertz output frequency, 5.8 Amps rated current, 9.9 Amps peak current for 1 seconds and 3.8 kVA rated output.
At 4 / 8 kilohertz pulse frequency, the continuous power of the brake chopper is 1.5 kilowatts, the peak power is 10 kilowatts for 1 second and the minimum resistance value is 60 Ohms. The housing is designed for forced air cooling. The minimum rate of airflow recommended by Bosch is 0.03 m3/s. Additional functions supported by the RD51.2-4B-003-L-A1-FW include filter current feedback, starting lockout and stand-by power. A 24 Volts DC external supply is required by the stand-by power feature. Drive data sets can be parameterized, read and written when the AC supply is off and the stand-by feature is in operation. To prevent ground loops, Bosch recommends application of the 24 Volt standby power supply voltage to the X83 in a floating manner. The X83 is not protected from reverse polarity if this recommendation is not implemented. Firmware for the RD51.2-4B-003-L-A1-FW has to be ordered separately.
