The RD51.1-5N-160-R-V1-FW is a new generation industrial servo drive manufactured by Rexroth Indramat to carry out accurate automation control in the industrial servo system. This device is a three-phase servo drive compatible with a wide range of synchronous and induction motor series used in the industrial servo system. Under normal operating conditions, the RD51.1-5N-160-R-V1-FW frequency converter operates at an efficiency of about 95 percent; it can maintain this high operational efficiency for more than five years without requiring any major mechanical repair. The RD51.1-5N-160-R-V1-FW industrial drive controller is also designed with an additional signal processor with a 32-bit floating-point; this internal processor allows the drive controller to meet the operational requirements of high dynamic applications.
The RD51.1-5N-160-R-V1-FW servo drive requires a nominal input voltage of about 500 volts for optimum operation; at this voltage, the drive can generate a power output of about 160 kilowatts. The heat generated by this servo drive during operation is regulated by liquid cooling; the drive is connected to an internal liquid pump which makes this possible. The permissible temperature range perfect for the operation of the RD51.1-5N-160-R-V1-FW frequency converter falls between 0 to 45 degrees Celsius; however, if the controller is not required for immediate operation, then it can be stored at an ambient temperature as high as 75 degrees Celsius.
The RD51.1-5N-160-R-V1-FW is not supplied with a firmware module; this has to be specially ordered by the operator as a separate sub-unit. The rated current used by this drive controller is 198 amperes; however, the drive can receive an input current as high as 247 amperes for more than 60 seconds without experiencing any electrical damage.
