The Bosch Rexroth RD51.1-5N-005-L-D1-FW is an industrial drive controller. It is designed for three-phase AC input at 500 Volts AC. The controller belongs to the RD51 series with technical characteristics including AC / DC supply, multiple cooling methods, 4-line graphical display, support for multiple communication interfaces, peer-to-peer coupling or Synchrolink for rapid inter-drive communication and overload capability. Each RD51 drive comes with a type label. This label includes information such as the hardware type code, the firmware type code, and ratings for current and voltage.  The information on the label needs to be verified at the time of equipment delivery. Overload capability of the RD51.1-5N-005-L-D1-FW is 200% for 0.5 seconds and 170% for 1 second. When operated at 4 kilohertz pulse frequency, the controller can be used with motors rated for up to 5.5 kilowatts.

When operated at 8 kilohertz pulse frequency, the controller can be used with motors rated for up to 4 kilowatts. The drive converter does not include a brake chopper. The RD51.1-5N-005-L-D1-FW supports two additional functions: 24 Volt standby power and connection for connection for RZC01.1-XT with NAMUR terminal strip. An external DC power supply is required for the standby power feature. When the supply is connected, the RD51.1-5N-005-L-D1-FW controller can be parameterized even if the AC supply is disconnected. The RD51.1-5N-005-L-D1-FW controller dissipates heat through forced air cooling. A minimum air flow rate of 0.03 m³/second is recommended by Bosch.
