Product Description
The modular RD 500 drive system is a three-phase drive system created for synchronous and induction motors by Indramat Refu. It features converters and inverters of various size classes, rectifiers, and supply modules. These modules of the universal system can be purchased separately or with other components of the system and can be flexibly customized to suit specific applications. Ideally, they are used to control electric motors and monitor their operations with typical operations such as machine tools, chemical and process technology, and handling and assembly systems.
The RD51.1-5B-055-L-V1-FW is a converter in the RD 500 drive system that carries out its motion control function using the voltage frequency control (VFC) method. It works with a 3-phase AC voltage of 500V with a ±10% tolerance limit and a nominal frequency between 50Hz and 60Hz. It features an integrated brake chopper and a user panel with a 4-line graphical display for parameterizing and commissioning it. This user panel is removable and has a copy function that allows parameters to be saved on it and then transferred to another unit. The converter can also be operated and parameterized using the RDwin PC user interface.
A start inhibitor function is integrated into the RD51.1-5B-055-L-V1-FW to implement the “Protection against accidental starting” requirement of the EN 60 204-1. This function prevents the motor from accidentally starting when a fault occurs. The converter can also be operated with a 24V DC standby power supply that sustains it when the main power supply is disconnected. With this additional power supply, the parameterization, reading, and writing into of data sets can continue, and field buses can be operated without any interruptions. This product can be shipped globally with a one year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
