The Bosch RD51.1-4N-090-L-V1-FW is a 90 kilowatts rated drive controller. The drive converter is rated for 380 to 480 Volts AC input. A brake chopper is not part of the converter. The controller cools via forced air cooling. This cooling method requires cooling fans. The airflow for the fans should not be impeded. The minimum free space specified by Bosch should not be restricted by other equipment. The minimum air flow rate recommended by Bosch is 0.4 cubic meters per second. Provision of this minimum air flow will ensure that the ambient temperature stays within the recommended 0 to 40 degrees Celsius ambient temperature range.  The RD51.1-4N-090-L-V1-FW drive supports one additional function which is 24 Volts standby power. Even when the AC input is disconnected, the standby power can be used to read and write data sets.

The standby power feature allows continued operation of field buses in the absence of main power supply. The RD51.1-4N-090-L-V1-FW is a modular controller and the firmware has to be ordered separately from the hardware. The controller technical data for 4 kilohertz pulse includes 90 kilowatts rated output, 0 - 250 Hertz output frequency, 165 Amps current output, 215 amps peak current output for 60 seconds and 109 kVA rated output. The controller technical data for 8 kilohertz pulse includes 75 kilowatts rated output, 0 - 500 Hertz output frequency, 135 Amps current output, 176 amps peak current output for 60 seconds and 89 kVA rated output. The recommended altitude for controller operation with rated output is 0 to 1000 meters. The RD51.1-4N-090-L-V1-FW controller weighs approximately 74 kilograms. The housing of the RD51.1-4N-090-L-V1-FW is IP20 rated. The controller can be mounted inside a suitable control cabinet.
