One of its products is the RD 500 drive system, a three-phase current drive system composed of converters, inverters for DC supply, and rectifier and supply modules. The RD 51 converters in the system are commonly used in moving gears, agitators, pumps, centrifuges, and extruders.

The RD51.1-4N-015-L-V1-FW is one of the converters of the RD 51 series designed and manufactured by Indramat Refu. Its motion control method is voltage frequency control, and it features a removable user panel with a four-line graphical display for its operation. The user panel has a parameter copy function that allows the storage and exchange of parameter sets with another unit. It also has a fault acknowledgement feature that ensures that faults are rectified before the device is operated. A nominal connecting voltage that ranges from 380V to 480V with a tolerance of ±10% is required for the operation of this RD 51 converter. Its rated power value is 15kW.

As a product of Size Class B, the RD51.1-4N-015-L-V1-FW  can be installed in a control cabinet. It has a 22.5mm mechanical grid pattern, allowing the side-by-side mounting of multiple drive units without an intermediate space. Its cooling method is forced-air cooling, and it has a cooling air requirement of 0.05m³/s. Several communication units are also compatible with this converter model for setting its parameters. They include Interbus S remote bus, Profibus DP slave, Peer-to-Peer coupling with a fiber-optic cable, and CANopen. Its Ingress Protection rating according to EN 60529 is IP 20, meaning that it will not admit external solid objects over 12mm.
