The Indramat Refu RD 500 drive system is a universal three-phase system with highly efficient components such as AC drive converters, inverters for DC supply, and rectifier and supply modules. These components are arranged in a modular configuration, enhancing the flexibility of the system and its adaptability to suit a broad range of functions. Its applications include chemical and process technology, hoist and conveyor technology, and machine tools.

The RD51.1-4N-001-L-D1-FW is one of the converter unit models in the Indramat Refu RD 500 system. It achieves motion control through voltage frequency control and utilizes a three-phase AC voltage between 380V and 480V as its nominal connecting voltage. It is equipped with a removable control panel that is used to operate, monitor, and parameterize the drive system. It also allows parameter sets to be copied and transferred to other devices. There is no brake chopper in this model, and it adopts forced air cooling to eliminate heat from the device. The drive converter meets the EMC directives on noise emission and immunity according to EN 61800-3.

The power rating of the RD51.1-4N-001-L-D1-FW is 1kW. It has an Ingress Progression rating of IP 20 according to EN 60529, and this means that objects with a larger diameter than 12mm cannot penetrate it to cause damage. It can also be operated at variable pulse modulation frequencies for efficient speed and torque control in its motor. Thanks to its compact size and modular configuration, it can be ordered and mounted in a control cabinet and wired with other components of the RD 500 system.
