The RD51.1-4B-200-R-V1-FW is a model of frequency converters in the RD 500 drive system by Bosch Rexroth. It operates with a 3-phase AC connecting voltage that ranges from 380V to 480V with a +/- 10% allowance. It is equipped with a built-in brake chopper and has radio suppression filters and line reactors integrated into it for the reduction of harmonics in the line supply. The power rating of the frequency converter is 200kW and it is operated at varying pulse frequencies between 4 kHz and 12 kHz. Its cooling mode is liquid cooling with an internal pump.

To protect the RD51.1-4B-200-R-V1-FW from damage, the RD 500 system features a self-test function that runs when the system is being initialized. The frequency converter also plays a protective role for the system in fault detection as its main contactor shuts down when a fault occurs, causing the power section to go off. This triggers a fault notification by an LED on the system. The device has an IP 20 rating, based on EN 60529 standards, indicating that it is resistant to damage by objects over 12mm in diameter.
