The Bosch Rexroth RD51.1-4B-007-L-NN-FW is a three-phase drive system. The drive firmware has to ordered separately from the hardware. The reason is that Bosch develops different firmware that support different features. Therefore the customer needs to select the firmware that has features that are required by the customer’s applications. The RD51.1-4B-007-L-NN-FW drive is developed for motor-control applications. The drive is converter based. The converter comes with a brake chopper. Power rating of the RD51.1-4B-007-L-NN-FW is 7.5 kilowatts. The input rating of the drive converter is three-phase 380 to 480 Volts AC. The RD51.1-4B-007-L-NN-FW drive cools when air is forced across the heated drive surfaces. Optimal drive performance is obtained for 0 to 40 degrees Celsius ambient temperature. The minimum amount of airflow required for adequate drive cooling is 0.03 cubic meter per second.

The rated current at the output of the drive is 18 Amps. Peak current output of the RD51.1-4B-007-L-NN-FW is as follows: 23 Amps for 60 seconds, 31 Amps for 1 second and 36 amps for 0.5 seconds. Power output of the drive is as follows: 12 kVA continuous and 15 kVA peak power for 60 seconds. The brake chopper on the drive converter has a resistance of 25 Ohms. The continuous and peak power rating for the chopper are 3.8 kilowatts and 18 kilowatts respectively. The RD51.1-4B-007-L-NN-FW weighs approximately 6.5 kilograms. The IP20 rated drive housing needs to be mounted indoors and inside a cabinet so that the drive will be safe from dust and liquids. The drive can be commissioned from an optional operator panel, from a computer based software package and through serial and other communication interfaces such as SERCOS and Profibus.
