The Bosch RD51.1-4B-003-L-VY-FW is a modular drive controller. The modular hardware and software design of the drive allows adaptation to multiple requirements. The firmware for the unit has be ordered separately. The RD51.1-4B-003-L-VY-FW is based on an AC converter with brake chopper. The converter voltage rating is 380 to 480 Volts AC (three-phase). The drive output at three-phase 380 to 480 Volts AC input is 3 kilowatts. The drive output at three-phase 200 to 230 Volts AC input is 1.5 kilowatts. The RD51.1-4B-003-L-VY-FW is IP20 rated and should be installed inside a switch cabinet. The drive is cooled via forced air cooing. For best electrical connection, the metal parts of the switch cabinet should be connected to one another through the largest possible surface area. Paint on paint connection is not allowed. The line supply, motor and power cables should be route separately to eliminate mutual interference.

The minimum recommended clearance between different cables is 20 centimeters. Bosch recommends providing grounded barriers between power and signal cables. Any contactors, relays and electromechanical counters installed in the same cabinet should be provided with noise suppression devices. Non-shielded cables from the same circuit should be twisted with the smallest possible distance between them. Any incremental encoders should be connected via shielded cables. The shields of signal cables should be grounded at both ends. Radio interference suppression filters should be placed close to noise sources. Variable-speed motors should be connected via shielded cables. The shield between the motor and the frequency converter should not be interrupted by components such as motor filters, contacts and output reactors.  All handling, installation, mounting and commissioning activities should be performed by qualified personnel.
