The RAC 2.3-250-460-A00-W1 is a main spindle drive controller specially designed by Indramat to control the position and speed of Indramat 2AD asynchronous main spindle motors and 1MB frameless spindle motors based on the signals it receives from the digital control center. Motors controlled by the spindle drive controller are characterized by high stiffness and a broad speed range, which makes them perfectly suited for Numerically controlled industrial machines such as drills, paper-processing machines, multi-spindle machines, and lots more. The spindle drive controller functions with a high resolution of 1/4 000 000th of a revolution; this allows it to control the servo motor at the lowest speed efficiently.
The RAC 2.3-250-460-A00-W1 spindle drive controller contains an AS programming module specially designed to adapt the controller to the main spindle motor and implement the drive's special operating characteristics. A matching AS programming module is delivered with the drive controller for every specified spindle drive selected. The RAC 2.3-250-460-A00-W1 drive controller also contains a heat sink and an air blower, which it uses to regulate the temperature in the controller. Cool air is initially passed through the air shaft to absorb the excess heat; the resulting warm air is then dissipated away from the drive through the air slits present in the drive housing.
Servo motors controlled by the RAC 2.3-250-460-A00-W1 drive controller can produce a continuous power output of 65 kilowatts and a peak power output of 78 kilowatts. During power interruption, the driven motor can also provide a continuous regeneration power output of about 43 kilowatts and a peak regeneration power output of 78 kilowatts. The drive controller weighs about 121 kilowatts and should not be operated under ambient temperature greater than 55 degrees Celcius.
