The RAC 2.3-250-380-L00-W1 is a 3-phase digital main spindle drive controller from Bosch Rexroth Indramat that is designed for high stiffness and high power applications. Its is suitable for use with either the 1MB Indramat frameless motors or the 2AD series motor. RAC drive controllers feature internal positioning loop control and can handle resolutions up to 1/4,000,000 of a revolution.
The voltage and current rating of this equipment are 3 x AC 400V/50-60Hz and 400 Amps respectively. The RAC 2.3-250-380-L00-W1 is a design type-3 and series-2 RAC spindle drive controller. It features a SERCOS interface for real-time parameterization of set-points and values of torque, speed and position. This drive controller is without an additional encoder input, neither does it have an additional interface. Also, an additional bleeder is not available for this RAC model. The RAC 2.3-250-380-L00-W1 utilizes an AS programming module that adapts its functionality and characteristic operations to the corresponding connected main spindle motor. The functionality of RAC drive controller can be modified via the programming module parameters depending on the motor drive.
During operation, heat is generated, and the system emits heat via its air slits and heat sink with the aid of a built-in fan. The power dissipation of the RAC 2.3-250-380-L00-W1 is dependent on the power rating of the connected main spindle motor. When installing a RAC drive with hose cooling mechanism, it must be positioned at a minimum distance of 125 mm from horizontal barriers, and 260 mm from vertical barriers to provide space for the sufficient flow of air. For safety purposes, the heat sinks of the RAC 2.3-250-380-L00-W1 must be clean at all times to eliminate the possibility of overheating.
