Product Description

The RAC 2.3-200-460-L00-Z1 is a main spindle drive controller from Bosch Rexroth for controlling asynchronous main spindle motors and frameless spindle motors. Coupled with a main spindle drive, this drive controller forms a complete unit. They are often employed in numerically controlled machine tools, because of their good stiffness and ability to give continuous power at a broad speed range. Along with the broad speed range, this drive controller has an internal position control loop. The internal position loop gets closed by feedback coming back from the motor to the drive. The loop allows the motor to accurately position the spindle with a signal. It can even detect just 1/4 000 000th of a revolution.

This RAC 2 drive controller can be connected to a 3-phase supply network. It features both a mains contactor and an emergency stop switch to remove power from the circuit. The energy regenerated during braking is supplied back to the power supply. This happens even while emergency stop is applied. It can also stop the main spindle in the event of a power failure. It can be installed in a control cabinet for special cooling or it can be cooled using the air inside the controller. The necessary structural changes can be made without using any extra accessories. The main spindle drive housing contains a heat sink for the electronics and the integrated air blower.

This product operates on 300A current. It features a SERCOS interface for setting the speed. This variant doesn’t feature an additional encoder input. It comes with an additional bleeder for quick discharge. It can operate on both 400 Volts and 460 Volts at a system frequency of 50 Hz and 60 Hz respectively.
