RAC 2.3-150-460-L00-W1 is a product of Indramat under the RAC 2 Series. It is a controller that takes care of the intelligent actions of the Indramat 2AD Asynchronous main spindle motors and the 1MB frameless spindle motor. It has a continuous motor output of 30kW to 52kW at the drive shaft of the motor. This main spindle drive controller weighs 121kg, its M1-RAC4 mounting frame weighs 2kg and its M2-RAC (hose cooling) accessories weigh 1.7kg.
The RAC 2.3-150-460-L00-W1 design is for easy identification given a code number 3. According to rated data the connection voltage is either 3×AC 400V, 50Hz, ±15% or 3×AC 460V, 60Hz, ±10% and its current is 400A. It comes with the SERCOS interface. There are no additional encoder inputs, bleeders or interfaces. For cooling, it has a built-in fan. The output of the controller in a continuous state as related to motor output shaft is 65kW which peaks at 78kW. The regeneration output in a continuous state as relates to motor output shaft is 43kW which for about a continuous 5 seconds at most, climaxes at 78kW.
Environmental Conditions such as the Humidity category places the controller in a class coded F, this classification is according to DIN 40 040. Altitudes exceeding 1000m above sea level is not advisable to setup the controller for operation purposes. When in storage or transportion, temperatures should be kept between -35°C to 85°C. The permanent ambient temperature during operation is from 5°C to 45°C as estimated by its rated data. When and if rated data is decreased to 80% its maximum permanent ambient temperature can increase to a range of 5°C to 55°C. The controller RAC 2.3-150-460-L00-W1 carries an IP 100 protection as rated by EN 60529 (DIN VDE 0470). Its current and insulation are duly tested in accordance with the VDE 0160.
