The RAC 2.3-150-460-API-W1 is a mechanical device otherwise known as a main spindle drive controller. It has a primary function of giving intelligent directions to the Indramat 2AD asynchronous motors. It is produced by Indramat.
The RAC 2.3-150-460-API-W1 has a rated connection voltage of either 3×AC 400V, 50Hz,± 15% or 3×AC 460V, 60Hz, ± 10% and the current is 400A. The speed set point is a ±10V analogue interface. There is an additional encoder input for spindle feedback and an additional interface, the incremental encoder output. It does not have an extra bleeder, and its cooling system is a standard built-in fan. The controllers weigh 121kg, the M2-RAC hose cooling accessories weigh 1.7kg and the M1-RAC4 which is the mounting frame weighs 2kg.
The electrical designations like the continuous controller output in relation to the motor output shaft is 65kW which peaks at 78kW. The continuous regeneration output is 43kW and peaks at 78kW for a maximum of 5 seconds. Environmentally inclined parameters indicate that its setup for use should not exceed 1000m above sea level, but if not in use the RAC 2.3-150-460-API-W1 should be stored in a temperature of about -30°C to 85°C. The storage temperature is the same as transport temperature but ambient temperature when it is in use should be within the ranges of 5°C to 45°C if rated data is considered. If rated data is decreased to 80% the ambient temperature range increases to 55°C. Humidity Category Standards according to DIN 40 040 gives this device an F and it has an IP 100 type of protection.
