Manufactured by Indramat, the RAC 2.2-250-380-L00-W1 AC Main-Spindle Drive Controller is meant for 250A current with voltage connections rated as 3*AC 400V 50-60 Hz with consolidated mains contactor and emergency stop switch. It has an internal position control loop which can be remotely controlled to position the spindle with max resolution of 1/400000 revs. Characterized by high stiffness and broad speed range with sustained power the unit is particularly well-suited for use as main spindle drive in numerically controlled machine tools. Heat sinks are inbuilt for the electronics and structural changes can be easily made to allow air cooling. If necessary, hose cooling can be enabled with the accessory mounting parts supplied. The hose can also be separately ordered from Indramat.
The specifics for the programming module are input on site with the controller, available with three different formats for interface. These being Analog speed set-point, digital speed set-point and SERCOS interface. Operational temperatures are rated as optimal within 5-45 degrees Celsius with 55 C being the upper limit where performance is hampered. Maximum altitude for optimal performance is 1000m above sea level after which performance falters. Average relative humidity above 70% leading to condensation is suboptimal for performance. Water condensation is to be avoided.
The controller is classified as IP 10 in accordance with EN 60 529 (DIN VDE 0470). It is protected against penetration by solid objects above 50 mm but not against water or deliberate penetration. Manufacturing is in accordance with DIN VDE 0160 for mounting into a cabinet or sealed housing. In case of damage the unit can be repaired on site. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
