The RAC 2.2-200-460-A0I-W1 a spindle drive controller that is produced by Indramat. Using digital signals, this drive controller provides high stiffness and a broad speed range the motors it controls, making this motor effective as spindle drives in numerically controlled machines. The drive controller can pair efficiently with several industrial motors such as INDRAMAT 2AD asynchronous main spindle motors and 1MBframeless spindle motors with a continuous motor power output of 30 to 52 kilowatts. Spindle motors controlled by RAC 2.2-200-460-A0I-W1 can operate the spindle with extreme precision in the central position loop. The drive controller can detect a rotor position with a maximum resolution of 1/4000000 revolution, which means that the drive controller can control the motor even at the lowest speed.
The drive controller uses a 300A type current and three-phase rated connection voltage of 3 x AC 400V/50Hz, 3 x AC 460V/60Hz. In the case of sudden power interruption, the controller stops the main spindle by breaking the current supplied to it. The RAC 2.2-200-460-A0I-W1 controller also uses analog interphase for its speed setpoint, using a +/-10Volts connection to the conventional CNC control. The controller does not require an additional controller input; it, however, uses an additional incremental encoder output interface. The drive controller does not contain a bleeder.
The RAC 2.2-200-460-A0I-W1 drive controller is produced according to IP 10 EN 60 529 (DIN VDE 0470) protection class under reliable industrial conditions. It controls its temperature by using the heatsink and air blower installed into its house casing. The temperature control mechanism can regulate the temperature using air drawn from both inside and outside the controller’s cabinet.
