The Indramat RAC 2.2-200-380-API-W1/S001 is a RAC 2 series main spindle drive controller which is capable of providing digital control for spindle motors having up to 52 kilowatts power output. Input current rating of the controller is 300 Amps and the input voltage rating is three-phase 400 Volts AC (50 – 60 Hertz). The controller comes with additional encoder input for spindle feedback or seconds motor feedback, cooling fan and an additional interface for incremental encoder output. The RAC 2 series controllers are available with three different interfaces for speed set point including analog set point for connection to legacy CNC controls, digital set point for connection to PLC controllers and SERCOS interface for real-time communication with CNC controls. The RAC 2.2-200-380-API-W1/S001 supports analog set point. Additional bleeder is not available on the controller.
The RAC 2.2-200-380-API-W1/S001 is delivered with a cooling system which makes use of air outside the control cabinet. The cooling fan draws this air into the controller enclosure and the air passes out of the enclosure after flowing over the hot components of the controller, thus lowering the system temperature. As per recommendations from Indramat, the ambient temperature should be maintained between 5 and 45 degrees Celsius for optimal controller operation. Operation at higher temperatures leads to output derating. Furthermore, the controller output also derates if the altitude at which it is installed exceeds 1000 meters above sea level. Environmental protection rating of the controller enclosure is IP10. During installation, the wiring diagrams of the machine manufacturer must be followed. The motor must be grounded on the RAC 2.2-200-380-API-W1/S001 and the controller must be powered off prior to removing the AS programming module. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
