The Indramat RAC 2.2-200-380-API-W1 is an advanced microprocessor-controlled digital controller. It is designed to provide intelligent control for 1MB frame-less spindle motors and 2AD Indramat main spindle motors that have output ranging from 30 kilowatts to 52 kilowatts at the drive shaft. Drives that use the RAC 2.2-200-380-API-W1 controller are characterized by broad speed range and high stiffness which makes them suitable for as spindle drives in numerically controlled industrial machine tools. AC spindle drives using RAC controllers have an internal position control loop. Drives using the RAC controllers also have the capability of operating the spindle as a servo-axis with high precision and enable very precise control at very low speeds. Performance related specifications for the RAC 2.2-200-380-API-W1 include peak controller output of 55 kilowatts, steady-state controller output of 55 kilowatts, peak regeneration output of 37 kilowatts and stead-state regeneration output of 37 kilowatts.
Input rating of the RAC 2.2-200-380-API-W1 is 400 Volts AC (three-phase, 50 / 60 Hertz). The controller current rating is 300 Amps. Motor features include analog speed set point (±10V), internal cooling fan, additional interface for incremental encoder output and additional encoder input for spindle feedback or second motor feedback. Additional bleeder is not available on the RAC 2.2-200-380-API-W1. The controller is programmed via the AS programming module which plugs into the controller and adapts the controller to the spindle motor. The AS programming module is offered by Indramat with each spindle drive. The drive software contains drive-related and application-related parameters. The drive-related parameters affect the drive’s operating characteristics and the application parameters affect the functions of the spindle drive. Input and modification of parameter values is performed through keypad provided on the controller control panel. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
